Hard to know what to say anymore 15:57 - Oct 10 with 4194 viewsStokieBlue

So previously they refused to vote because they don't agree with EU institutions (but are happy to take their salary from them) and now they have made sure they vote in order to block a proposal on monitoring Russian meddling in EU elections:

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/russian-election-nigel-farage-bre

The Brexit Party said that claims of Russian interference in elections were "baseless propaganda and scare stories used to shut down debate".

It's an unparalleled level of hypocrisy and self-serving.

At least that's one upside for the EU.
Farage and his MEP's have to leave the EU Parliament when the UK (finally) leaves the EU.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

And Nige gets his lovely golden goodbye payoff. Nice work if you can get it.

I wonder why they'd take this stance.

I wonder why people associated with leave and the leave campaign would be against properly looking at Russian interference in European politics?

These people represent and embody everything that is rotten in our country.

They are an embarrassment and are turning us into a laughing stock across the world. Patriots my arse.

Lots of decent people voted for Brexit, no decent person would vote for the Brexit Party.

Now are they being paid (directly or indirectly) by the Russians or is the Russian meddling simply beneficial to their cause? It could actually be either.

If you write to your local MEP, on a matter that is before the EU, and the MEP happens to be Nige, on of his minions will write back and explain that they will never vote for or against anything, since they don’t agree that the EU should have power.

Well, that’s a turn around by Nige.

Can’t even stand by his own single driving principle.

By that measure, him and his party are less principled than Sinn Féin.

At the moment, I don't care what happens to this country.
Me and my family will be fine because of various things, so while I'm "worried" about everything, I realise I'm in a minority and other people will make the decisions.
I lost so I got over it.
Now I don't care if we crash and burn because I can say - "I voted remain" - and feel very smug.
Childish, certainly, but that's where I am.

I tell you what. Hats off to Putin:

Great Olympics
Superb Football World Cup
Most sought after missile defence systems in the world
Severely hamstrung ISIS in Syria
Shoots plane out of the sky in Ukraine
Invades Ukraine
Annexes Crimea
Fixes the US election
Turns Turkey away from NATO
Fixes the Brexit vote
Creates Novichok panic in rural Britain
Runs a state sponsored doping program for athletes
Sets up an army of internet trolls
and much much more (probably)
and still manages to prance around on a horse bare chested.
Murders political opponents

It's not surprising that he's so popular
How does he do it?

Has he improved the lives of his subjects very much?

I’d rather judge a leader on that than on how many conflicts they can ‘win’.

If he's really unpopular at home, he's doing well to hang in there and still do everything else he's doing.

It's an authoritarian state - pretty easy to be seen as popular in such a place.

Not entirely such what his popularity at home has to do with his ever increasing list of misdemeanours though.

He does unbelievably well to completely break the normal voting pattern when he can’t stand, to routinely get about 70%+ of the vote, and normally be at least 50-60% clear of the next closest candidates doesn’t he. Remarkable good fortune that closest rivals are such bad men too, who do bad things to get themselves barred. He must be very clever and very lucky, but most of all extremely popular.
