Just starting to read The Anarchy 13:46 - Oct 8 with 636 viewshomer_123

by William Dalrymple.

Covering the East Indian Company...worth a read if this is anyones cup of tea!

I'd forgotten just how much it controlled, everything from a private army larger than many at the time and controlling around 50% of global trade.....all from offices in London with around 20 to 30 staff!!!

Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...
Poll: As things stand, how confident are you we will get promoted this season?

On my list of things to read, as both a history dork and a big Indophile.

he was on the BBC history podcast last week promoting it. it was a very interesting listen if you have time. It is pretty incredible what they managed to achieve/got away with! The parallels with the power of today's corporations is interesting too
