Look at spurs vs colu, man u vs rochdale, when a team comes and compacts the midfield it is difficult to break it down. That is exactly what they did today luckily enough they couldn't do it for 90 mins and we eventually got well on top.
The only thing I would say is we need to stop gifting teams a goal for them to hang on to. |  |

The attacks they created they did not get many bodies forwards, there striker was screaming just before half time for midfielders to get forward.

We used far more width and stretched play, particularly at the start of the second half. Vincent-Young and Garbutt covered more ground on the wing, especially the former; in the first half both were pushed up high which gave very little in way of outlets to our centre backs and Downes. Judge and Jackson also drifted at times towards to wings to offer additional support which was not happening in the first half. Between the start of the second half and our fourhth goal we also played with the ball now, rather than looking to go long quite so often. | |

Skuse was pushed forward to play in front of Wilson & Chambers just before Garbutt scored. Almost immediately we carried more threat, as we won the ball back further up the field and stop them pressuring in our third to the same degree. I don’t think pointing out we were poor in the first half is moaning, it was a fact.
Lambert tried something different and it blatantly didn’t work. Once he moved Skuse back into the midfield we improved because up until the we were being completely overrun there. |  | | |
