I thought Lambert got the formation spot on yesterday by playing to our strengths with a 532 that quickly became a 4132 when he saw how deep they were. The 1st half was probably a little too good, they couldn't compete with us so just went very deep and sat to try and hang on. This is where we didn't do what we needed to do, we didn't stretch them. It was crying out for Holy to go short and for us to stretch them by working across the flanks but we resorted to silly keep ball in 10 yard squares in the middle, it was training drill stuff. They weren't pressing us so we didn't need to have 3 players in a square we needed to stretch them by working it around the pitch and pulling them out.

The 2nd half saw the 2 changes for them and for some reason we went deep. The formation eventually moved to a 451 with Georgiou and Edwards coming on to get behind them with pace but we didn't play the outlet well enough. The 2 wide players instead of pushing them back got back in instead.

All pretty obvious stuff but worrying how we managed to make it hard for ourselves/got outsmarted during the game

All in all good fun but should have been so much easier
