For an Ipswich boy he doesn't have the olde worlde Ipswich accent does he

That said I have noticed more and more of the local youngsters with this sort of accent so maybe the typical Ipswich accent is undergoing a change.

Suffolk kids these days sound like Londoners. And I've been seeing more young'uns round Lowestoft wearing fcking PSG or whatever shirt than Towen ones.

My son went to East Bergholt but sounds nothing like that. Mind you, I don't think he has discovered tiktok, so maybe that is it.

My lads a Bergholt school lad and he's picked up a bit of an Essex twang. In fact, the rest of his Ipswich living school mates have the same twang.

He now gives me a look when his Nan says "I shew you that last week" or similar.

In Essex we call it the Jafaican Mockney accent. Literally no one sounded like that 10-20 years ago and suddenly all the lads have this made up London-speak. Luke lets his East Anglian out a bit when he says minute though!

I remember commuting to work in Hertford a few years back and a lad walked up to me and said "yo, wendiz arrivin' yeh" or something to that effect that I didn't catch, he was only 5 or 6 years younger than me and the way we spoke couldn't have been further apart.
