Pathetic telling that group to sit down! They were not causing any trouble standing up.. They made that whole thing worse than it needed to be. Ended up kicking them out...

The stewards have made an absolute rod for their own back from now onwards from today’s incident that was non existent. They get all they deserve for the rest of the season now.

There was also two blokes standing up leaning against the boxes so I’m sure it wasn’t about blocking the view of the boxes, it was because they wouldn’t sit down. Quite a few kids with them aswell!!

Agree , empty boxes behind so what harm where they doing , just supporting their team .

could you not see their point though? if they let one lot stand then they have to let everyone stand and no one in the boxes can see the game i everyone is standing up.

Well fair enough if that was happening but it wasn't just half a dozen giving great support ,as they have done a few time before it has never spread and the stewards have always left them alone . Never been a problem .

Complete over reaction. They were doing absolutely no harm whatsoever. Probably the one bit of power those no mark stewards enjoy in their pointless existence. They probably went home and w@nked themselves senseless over it

It couldn’t have just been about standing, as after they kicked a few out, there were others that continued to stand.

That corner might start becoming popular this season as the SBRL is virtually sold out to ST holders, so fans will start going there instead to enjoy the Blue Action atmosphere.

This incident happened right behind me.

A female fan has a bottle of beer and refused to get rid of it.

Stewards very polite and professional and the attitude of the group of "fans" was quite poor, very antagonistic from the off and failing to realise that yes, we all pay good money to watch the game but entry to the group is on a number of conditions.

It's important to remember the stewards are fans too. This club is all of ours. The language and provocation used by grown adults who had teenage children was quite ludicrous actually, just grow up and accept you're in the wrong.

Was quite a distraction during a key part of the game but sadly there's people like this at all levels of the game who act this way because "it's football"

Hope they're not there for the next game. Probably better suited to watching in a pub. Quite a few fans bring young children and their language, the Louty group who were ejected and missed the climax, were using profanities and over reacting to everything, it got pretty boring I have to say

Anyway, Uppa Town

Good post. On the face of it from the North it looked like they were being given grief just for standing by over-reacting stewards, but there was one young (or short, couldn't tell from section 5) female fan who was obviously giving them dogs abuse and behaving in a very antagonistic way. If it was all over a beer, which clearly you are not allowed in view of the pitch, then more fool them. Ridiculous behaviour and the whole lot of them missed a really fantastic late win as a result.

This is how it should work.

Steward says "Please sit down?" then the fans sit down. We all lived happily ever after.

Stupid post. Just respect people doing their job.

So it wasn't about standing, and was about having a beer in view of the pitch, which has not been allowed for getting for thirty plus years?

Stewards were completely in the right then to challenge them with a view to confiscating the beer.

Although obviously there is a right and wrong way to go about speaking to people.

They took the beer away in the first half. Stewards then came back for another go in the second half and kicked them out for enjoying themselves

So what about the people who paid £800 plus to hire a box for the night!

I know a disabled child who goes in the box ( been with him on more than one occasion)and If people stand he can’t see,.

Stop worrying about what the stewards are doing and ask yourself why they are doing it.

Those end boxes are nearly always empty.

On Saturday games, you can see the chairs stacked up in them.

Agreed. Total over reaction. The group were joining in with the SBR lower, no people in the boxes behind them, and were basically ejected for supporting the team. Maybe the jobsworth ***** would be happier if everyone in the silent stands just sat there with tartan blankets and a mug of Bovril, thus making their jobs non existent. Pathetic bunch of over reactive stewards. Down vote that all you like, most of you on here either dont go to games, are happy clippers if you do (without the clapping) and just like to winge...Numbskulls rule!!

Sounds like they were given the chance to stay, but decided to argue the toss and so they got binned.

Not sure where the issue is.
