It's a tough one really. It seems very churlish to doubt his authenticity and to cock a snook at this, on the face of it, nice gesture. On the other hand churlish is my middle name.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

... rather than being sceptical about PL's motives, I like to think he has genuinely been blown away by the level of support, especially when we were bottom and going down last season.

And that he is finding it unique in his managerial experience, which has included relegation.

Let's go chicken oriental on Saturday and breathe in the winning goal!!

Imagine a person who doesn’t go to games knocking the manager for doing things like this to thank loyal supporters.

I dunno, it's equally tedious when people who do go to games do the same. It's going to cost him about £500, it's not an extravagant gesture but it's one PL doesn't have to make.

Agreed, don’t know why people have to be so cynical. Take it on face value ffs. Our supporters wind me up so much.

He doesn’t need to do anything like this, he didn’t need to involve ex players... but as he has a brain in his head you can see the thinking behind getting the fans on board.

Who’d have guessed when a club all pulls in the same direction that the atmosphere would be great, even with a relegation to consider.

Up the lambert up the town

Thank you gaffer. Up the Scottish Simeone.

Nope, there's always something to pick out.

Someone on Facebook was moaning that it should only be made available for away fans as they spend more money travelling etc.

Have we really hit a point where we're slating a manager who's buying beer for the fans and has a 100% record in the league so far? What more can he do!?

Slate him at Christmas if he's buying us beers to say sorry for us being in the relegation zone. Right now, everything's where we want it to be.

... having just witnessed that press conference, if he is putting on this intensity towards fixing the club - fan bond, and hamming up his respect for the quality of town support since his arrival....

... well then he is one hell of a liar / charalatan!!

Seems very genuine to me!
