The table in the OP was 1989/90 so not long before football got invented.
edit-as I was 38 in 1989 I did not have the particular one in the OP.

You'd normally wait 3 weeks before starting them, and then give up after 2 further weeks | |

The ones that came with the cardboard shirt thingys that you stuck in the slots were fiddly as, but still way better than the sticky plastic strip ones which would get all curled and stop sticking within about 2 games
Like you I never made it past the first 2 or 3 weeks, although I’m guessing if you make it through 3 months or so it would get a lot easier to maintain! |  |
