Breakfast options 09:01 - Aug 2 with 1025 viewsBlueySwede

So, going to the Sunderland-game next week and we have booked Easyhotel so no breakfast. Any recommendations for breakfast? Decent bacon (I like it crispy) and scrambled eggs is a must.

Four pack of Tyskie in your room, job done.

Do you burn all of your food or just the bacon?

My suggestion is bacon and scrambled eggs.

Ask for the bacon well done. You might want to specify how you want the eggs too.

Being up north they may or may not take well to you telling them how to cook your food.

EDIT: Ooops, misread that didn't I? You are talking about down here for the home game aren't you! Egg on my face there. Hope you get a good recommendation! And enjoy the match.

When we stayed last year we went to Blend's , just around the corner in Buttermarket ( 43A) . Breakfast was perfect and cheap . As for the easyhotel , we choose it because it was cheap , but rooms are very very small and non ventilated . Definitely not for the claustrophobic !!

Yep..I read about the small rooms..Lucky I chose double room with windows at least. I have been spoiled with many stays at Novotel and Premier Inn. But we are drunk most of the time, so...
Thank you for the suggestion :)

I just assume it's how all responsible adults begin the working day.

Fun fact, the word avocado is derived from the Nahuatl word for a testicle. Which aptly describes this disgusting millennial you saw...

Yep, it's a chain place but the food is decent and you can get a beer from 11 (I think).

Whetherspoons is round the corner, have a decent cheap breakfast and a half decent cheap beer.

I wouldnt recommend Artsbossbeards suggestion, in fact it is a terrible idea. If you fancy a greasy spoon there is one near The Falcon - or has it closed???

Avocado is an old fad, now it's all about shakshuka, soy drinks and kombucha

Cosy Club may have gone downhill since my last visit - who knows?

I've never frequented a Wetherspoons but the thought of drinking (and eating) with the great unwashed doesn't really do it for me.

I'm waiting for Eastern European breakfast food to become trendy. The day I can eat pickled herring and mushrooms for breakfast without judgement is the day I die happy.

You had me right up until the mushrooms, BigManBlue. Very disappointing stuff.

And I was just about to add you to the Christmas card list...

No pickled turkey for you.

I though the breakfast you were referring to was the four-pack of Tyskie. More of a Zubr man myself, though.

Zubr is a beer of quality. Zywiec is good in a pinch as well.

I think in Eastern Europe, four tinnies is regarded as a warm up for breakfast, an incentive to get out of bed...
