Players from abroad 11:34 - Jul 27 with 1340 viewshector_clifford

It will be a shame if no interest has been shown in getting anybody in from abroad. I'm sure we could have gotten in a good, tough centre half for not very much or nothing at all, who would have been an upgrade on the trialists we have at the moment.

I assume our scouts are only armed with pushbike, lorgnette and lunch money.

I'd imagine that an English third division club with no money is quite the draw for your average young overseas hopeful.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

If by having money, you mean we wouldn't be able to pay your average young overseas hopeful, they you will be right. But, I think the potential to earn a couple of thousand pounds a week, at a club like Ipswich, would be a lure.

Don't want any more foreigners over here anyway, tbh. What's wrong with British players?

A bit strange comment in my opinion, with the success Town have had with international players.
Of course there isn´t anything "wrong" with British players, but I would say the British player market is overinflated and the Brithish leagues is well scouted by other teams.
There are gems out there, in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Holland, etc.

Get Big Sam more involved. Good, proud English bloke who knows his onions football-wise.

It was a joke.

Having said that the sad thing is the top clubs in the country are hardly brimming with British talent these days. Our own manager is a rarity from the last 20 years, a Scotsman whos played both in a World Cup and a Champions League final.
