I would say there are more Gold card members this season than previous for exactly the reasons you are concerned about.

I imagine that there will be more GC holders this season than last season because in theory with smaller grounds tickets will be harder to come by,I do not know the numbers but I would guess that there will be getting towards 1000 GC holders.
Wimbledon game might not get beyond GC and some others probably will not get as far as General Sale but Burton will not be a problem with ST. | | | |

Junior Blues count as Gold card also if they have season tickets. Not the automatic free ones they get if they sit in the Family Enclosure but the £15 ones. [Post edited 15 Jul 2019 10:02]

My estimate of 500 is a bit of a guess to be honest.
