Half a century since the "moon landings" ... (n/t) on 12:10 - Jul 14 by footers | Surely the moon must rank up there with Augusta as one of the most sought-after golf courses there is? Why Musk and Branson aren't taking this obvious marketing opportunity I don't know. Plenty of fairly well-moneyed gobsh1te golfers would be up for it, for bragging rights if nothing else. But how would you get an Audi into space? One for the eggheads. |
The same way as the Tesla? We could get a few up there and watch them go around and around, in some mock up of a pointless race where it is would be impossible for the rankings to change unless some unforeseen circumstance were to occur. A bit like F1.

Great idea, mate. Think there could be a few quid in this if we get it right. With the added bonus of sending loads of golf tossers to the moon on a one-way ticket.

The one-sixth of Earth's gravity factor would make things a bit more challenging, downforce and friction would be radically altered. Would it be possible for a driver lacking in caution to accelerate too much and leave the moon's orbit and end up lost in space?

Half a century since the "moon landings" ... (n/t) on 23:48 - Jul 13 by Warhurst | It happened because the technology existed and two superpowers were racing to be the first to make it happen. If I may ask an unrelated question, assuming it was indeed faked, one of these scenarios must be true; a) All the thousands of workers involved were successfully hoodwinked into believing what they were doing was real, whilst it wasn't b) Everyone involved knew it was a hoax and nobody has come out since with any sort of proof this is the case How likely are either of these? |
Plenty of people have been convinced austerity is necessary
Half a century since the "moon landings" ... (n/t) on 22:49 - Jul 15 with 725 views | StokieBlue | Even though I've already answered your points, if you want more answers on why we haven't been back and why we are now then watch this on iPlayer (well the last 25 minutes): https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0006w6z/stargazing-moon-landing-special Technology has advanced so much that so much more is possible such as not needing to transport materials to the moon and just using what's already there to build things and the ability to create rocket fuel on location. It's not like they are going back using the Saturn V and the lunar rover. SB

That is true and against all evidence. However, it is not quite the same is it? To claim an event never happened despite all the evidence is not the same as claiming a political ideology does or does not work. Denying the moon landings is on a par with denying the holocaust in my book, albeit the latter is much more dangerous in its ramifications.
