Was looking through some old programmes and it reminded me that the first goal I ever saw Ipswich score was scored by Stern John of all people.
Can't remember the goal at all but I am interested as to the first Ipswich goal other people saw. If it was particularly good or bad or memorable in any way.

We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.

That was a brilliant goal and Woodsie didn't even celebrate it as first, just stood there open mouthed and not quite believing that what he had tried had actually worked.
Mine was, I think, Ray Crawford against QPR in 1968:

My friend and I just turned up but maybe over an hour before the game, hardly anyone there until we were suddenly hemmed in my two groups of QPR supporters who had arrived from opposite directions chanting at each other, one lot from the Portman Road end of Churchmans and the other from the West Stand. We slunk away and waited for a bit more home support to make us feel comfortable.

My visits for the first few years were very sporadic because I lived in cambridge, was still very young (9 at that game, although 8 at my first game which was the 6th round fa cup game v Leeds the season before). The old man used to play a lot of golf and wasn’t interested in taking me down to Ipswich so most games I saw in the 70s were with my uncle who eventually became a ST holder and friends. Almost made it to the third replay v Leeds when woodsy scored that other screamer

A cheeky lob over the keeper from Eric Gates in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle , Peter Beardsley put them one up with a low pile driver free kick. For ages after the I tried to emulate both efforts at every opportunity, the lob worked better for me than the free kick.

Tidy low finish on the edge of the box if I remember correctly. Overshadowed by Mark Brennan scoring the winner from 30+ yards out with a loopy lob.
That was my first away game, I remember the burnt out stadium and Rovers fans trying to attack us at every opportunity more than the goals. First game home to Coventry Jason dozzell debut can only remember his goal no idea who scored first for us, I'm sure someone on here will help with my memory.
