I think technically it was a penalty but they are not usually given by the referee. An example of how VAR is unbalancing the game. People are looking at how allegedly more decisions are correct and ignoring the fact that VAR is changing the actual game of football i.e. many more penalties and more goals ruled out for offside.

Goals are being ruled out for having an eyelash offside, but what about if a substitute warming up has one foot on the pitch when a goal is scored? How far are we taking this ridiculousness?

Just seen the clip. Her studs were up because she was hoofing the ball clear! Then the Spanish girl ran onto them.

In slow motion, it looks very much like she held the studs there intentionally- in which case it was a correct decision. At full speed however, very difficult to say whether there was any intent.

The first is the worse decision for me. Plainly unintentional. Messing with the rules is ruining the game.

I thought she was off balance and tipping backwards, hence the foot not being lowered and if anything rising a little, not a penalty for me.

	No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.
