Its been mentioned a couple of times 15:09 - Apr 7 with 2251 views | Cheltenham_Blue | that we could sign a 'typical' Lambert No9 in the summer. So here are Lambert's striker signings, I've not included loans or players described as a no 10. Libor Kozak, Villa, 6ft 2in Nicklas Helenius, Villa, 6ft 3in Christian Benteke, Villa 6ft 1in Jordan Bowery, Villa, 6ft 0in Steve Morison, Nodge, 6ft 1in James Vaughan, Nodge, 5ft 11in Aaron Wilbraham, Nodge, 6ft 2in Simeon Jackson, Nodge, 5ft 10in I had it in my head that a typical Lambert No 9 was a big, strong forward who could hold the ball up, but looking at this list, maybe there isn't a 'typical' Lambert centre forward?

Assume so, I only looked at a list of Lamberts signings. No big fat Holt.

Its been mentioned a couple of times on 15:21 - Apr 7 with 2173 views | JakeITFC | All quite physical and mobile forwards that aren’t necessarily pure goalscorers.
Its been mentioned a couple of times on 15:23 - Apr 7 with 2165 views | Sarge | The only one that was really a success was Benteke, maybe Morison to some degree. With that in mind, no bad thing if we don’t follow suit!

Do Simeon Jackson and Bowrey fit that? Genuine question, I always thought Jackson was quite lightweight.

Surprisingly, as he was a good signing, Bryan Gunn signed Holt.

For me there's too type of targetmen You have the big number 9 or you have the pacey striker who runs the channel and stretches team. You launch directly to the number 9, you launch the ball into space with the pacey striker. As a combination, they work well together. Even the more modern inside wingers and false 9's tend to work in this way in varying ways, whether that's dropping deep and taking the ball to feet or simply moving into a striking position and making a nuisance of themselves It's best two have all four variants in your line ups for tactical variety
