Assumption is to make an ass out of you and me.
Those who assume they know you, when they don't are just guessing.
Those who assume and insist they know are daft and in denial.
Those who assume, insist, and deny the truth are plain stupid.
Those who assume, insist, deny the truth and tell YOU they know you (when they don't) have an IQ in the range of 35-49.

did anyone ever really believe that a negotiation to leave the eu wouldn't end in an 11th hour stand off? still loads of time for this sort of stuff.
And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

This is competely different to the usual negotiations, and I'm afraid there isn't. Only needs one member state with a grudge (Spain - Gib?) as I said last week.

That's not what the leaks from the EU are saying.
They are saying it needs to be shorter (before EU elections) or longer (a long time after).
SB
I'm sharpening my EU voting pencil.

That's a little unfair. Unless you put Adern instead of Cameron and change things from the start.
That's exactly what I meant! but I was going from that date because of his huge gamble (which Tusk warned him about) with the GE, and his concomittent assumption that he'd have Nick Clegg as part of a coalition to do his dirty work for him to reject any referendum. Clearly he didn't see the outright majority that he got, coming!

I am still confident that the UK will Brexit at 11:59pm on 29th March, as long as the fax machine is working properly.
I'm cutting the plug off it.

In reality, he didn't have to ditch the coalition just because he got an outright majority. Altho the LibDems were a lot less useful with 8 seats instead of the 57 they had before.
Macron and other Frenchies are being quoted as saying there won't be an extension and they're basically happy to tie us up in a sack and throw us into the English Channel, if that'll put a stop to all this nonsense.

And I misread the date before replying, sorry.
"In reality, he didn't *have* to ditch the coalition .."
Interesting, hadn't thought of that, but what justification could he have given for allowing one?
