But people have been saying on here all day that "no deal" in March can't be ruled out. It seems that I have been inadvertently misled by posters on here.
I wonder if this now means the MEPs being summoned to No.10 in the next couple of weeks is actually because they will be asked to stand in the May euro elections, as has been fairly widely reported.
I wonder if this means that Hammond ruling out no deal at the end of March to business leaders was actually more than a mere personal opinion, as StokieBlue suggested. |  |

That wouldn't rule out No Deal, just delay the possibility of it happening for another year*.
EU elections are due in May, so what happens with UK MEPs is a tricky question.

Article in today's Telegraph (behind the paywall, unfortunately) with a transcript of a phone call between Hammond, plus a couple of other ministers, and a group of senior business people. It definitely gave the impression there was a fairly unstoppable cross-party motion to postpone the A50 deadline (or withdraw it altogether if not possible). None of them sounded too upset at the prospect.

Feedback from Brussels is that the size of the government loss has spooked EU leaders and there is concern that UK does not have enough time to agree a way forward so taking seriously the prospect of us falling out of EU without an agreement.
Barnier has suggested negotiations could be re-opened if TM drops her red lines.
EU still want UK to stay or at least be tied into EU more than the deal that parliament rejected. So prepared to come back to the table to negotiate a softer BREXIT. [Post edited 17 Jan 2019 15:29]

& it was only a suggestion from Barnier
Now the brexiteers look like they are going to screw that with their demands
& as the bloke said last night going back to the EU is likley to get the backs up of a number of countries that believe the EU has already given too much
The UK wants to leave - it would have been better to have aplan to start with not ask the other side for one at the end
