It's all down t Hurst....or is it ? 17:27 - Jan 5 with 822 viewsHARRY10

Just like the drunk who falls down the stairs blames it on the last pint he had.
Because nothing in our previous decade had suggested this was where we were heading ?

No clues, no indication. Just wallop. A successful club riding high suddenly found itself dumped on the floor without the wherewithal to get up.

Yep, that avoids accepting that we have been on the slide for years. We have ran up an extra £60m or so of debt to achieve what. What current player would fetcha decent fee ? As those who would have long gone.

A right back who could get into a L1 team. Strikers that are clearly out of their depth in the Championship. Nine signed players out of contract in the summer ...all down to Hurst ?

How any times have we seen player's contracts run down ? Any wonder so many 'jump ship' and head to more secure clubs.

Today's sickener is the end product of a long line of incompetence from having a non football owner and CEOs. Lumping all the blame on Hurst rather overlooks that the other managers struggled as well under Evans.

Maybe that's where the real clue can be found.

No doubt we've been slowly rolling towards the edge of the cliff for some time. Hurst just got in the car and started driving towards it at 120 miles per hour. Lambert now has to jump in and stop the car with about 3 metres left to go before we plunge over the edge.

I hope Hurst brings a team to PR one day. Deserves 90 mins of stick.

Truly impaired.

You're right of course re Evans.

But Hurst accelerated the whole thing with what was a frankly crazy transfer policy. Disposing of established championship players and replacing each with 2-3 inexperienced league 1 and 2 players.

But no one will do anything, plenty will go into next season praising Evans for 'saving' us and suggesting that those who oppose him buy the club.

Those players werenot 'disposed of' they wanted out. They could see where the club was going.

This summer's signings suggest more a lack of money than a lack of judgement. As despite paper talk we have no idea what was actually paid in fees and how much was received either.

What is known is that quality players leave and are not replaced. This has been going on for some while now. Has every manager been behind this, or is it maybe Evans leeching out money ?

Hurst inherited a squad that could not cover the inadequacies of a constantly weakened squad. But that would remove a convenient scapegoat for so many.
