We have already had a second referendum. We had one asking if we wanted to join, then one asking if we wanted to leave or remain.

As a general rule Plebs are only too thick to understand the complexities of what they are voting for if they disagree with your views.

Or if they're force fed lies

Indeed. We were lied to about a 2016 and 2017 recession, rising unemployment and falling house prices as an immediate shock from a Leave vote.

Let's hope that remain will be more truthful if there is a second referendum.

So the remainer story goes...

Looks like Momentum are letting the Labour Party conference attendees vote on the issue too.

The dominoes began falling months ago. It will all speed up now. We'll be EU members on April 1st 2019 IMO. And on April 1st 2025. 2030. Etc.

In his foreword to the Treasury’s analysis of the short-term effects of a Leave vote — released a month before the referendum — Osborne wrote: “a vote to leave would represent an immediate and profound shock to our economy. That shock would push our economy into a recession and lead to an increase in unemployment of around 500,000 ”.

“The analysis shows that immediately following a vote to leave the EU, the economy would be pushed into a recession, with four quarters of negative growth.”

You do realise we haven't left yet and we are still sending our annual contributions to the EU?

Actually, you probably don't.

Good point. And how is our independent military getting on?

Our military (like that of the Dutch and others) has been underfunded for years. The plan? Provoke a need for greater EU/NATO co-operation and hey-presto we're all hysterically happy that we all mucked in together as a united EU / NATO force to repel the aggression of whoever we're told is the baddy of the day.

State sovereignty is nothing more than a bind to Brussels and the military might that intends to rule over us. Better to have a common military, police, legal system and a single unelected government. Pretty effective takeover of Europe - and all in the name of defence. Did people really think our government was going to respect this referendum.

I'm all for it but it does amuse me that the people calling for a second referendum are the same people who a) don't believe in referendums and b) think that the plebs are too thick to understand the complexities of what they are voting for.

They day after the Referendum I saw my friends (mostly Remain like myself) posting all sorts of sanctimonious snobbish bulls**t like I've never seen before, branding people racists (including fellow socialists) who have legitmate concerns about the EU. Then Corbyn said we should trigger Article 50 straight away; I laughed and also felt like holding my head in my hands. Pandoras box has been opened with this, I just want it done one was or another. It has been a complete s**t show so far.

Personally, I don't think I can live through another plus months of lying, obfuscation, wilful divineness and bitter entrenchment. On a cold intellectual level it *might* be a good idea, but given the quality of debate on show last time(when TWTD shows a higher level of informed conversation than those who apparently Know About These Things you know you're onto a bad 'un) I fear it may eclipse 201 for sheer dreadfulness.

At the time of the Referendum I knew more about how and why the Northern Ireland border would be a major stumbling block than the current Secretary of State for Northern Ireland did 9 months ago.

Remain will win a second Referendum as long as someone can send Eddie Izzard out of the country for the duration of the campaign.

Personally speaking, if there was anothe referendum on this, I’d not bother voting.

Because I voted the first time. But because Cameron and his chins didn’t get the result they wanted, it’s ended up dragging on for years, new people are in charge of it and, if a second referendum was then called after all of that, it completely undermines the idea of a democratic vote in my opinion.

Because replacing a flawed referendum where not much more than a third of the electorate voted Leave with one where two thirds decide to give the shambolic Russian backed scam the heave ho would be completely undemocratic?
