Possibly, look at it this way however: If something that was 1000 times as large as you was trying to swat you and all you had was a sting to get rid of them what would you do? Because that's what everyone does, a wasp comes near them going about it's business and they go and swat it. SB

I would try to fly into something 1000 times as big as me for a start. I especially wouldn't try and land on their food. Bees manage this perfectly fine but wasps seem to enjoy pestering you. And for that, may they all burn in hell.

Not their fault they have evolved to be attracted to sweet foods. They are victims of their genes. SB

If you move slowly around them you can even guide them away with your hand just in front of them. But reacting with disproportionate fear and panicking only confuses them, just calm down for chrissake.

I was minding my own business, enjoying a cold beer in Portugal and I felt something on my arm. I moved my arm slightly and the wasp which must have landed on me stung my arm. I reacted so severely that after a few hours I couldn't see any knuckles on my left hand. Took a few days to return to near normal. So, funnily enough, I don't like wasps. You were probably loudly proclaiming the fallacy that AC/DC were better than The Stranglers at Wembley in 1978. I have friends in hive places, y'know.

Leave those wasps alone on 18:47 - Sep 19 with 1249 views | jeera | They always seem to be fine until late July or so. Yep, they are very important in the early growing season, playing a role in pollination but also serve a purpose by keeping down aphids. If you see wasps, hover flies, ladybirds and earwigs amongst your veg you're in luck. Wasps have no interest in us until they've completed their duties for the greater good, (the greater good), it seems. Then it's like they're let loose on the world like bored juveniles constantly out looking for trouble.
