Sky Red Button - match fees 11:59 - Aug 31 with 901 views | uefacup81 | Here's a thought - how does the red button coverage work with regards to what the club are paid by Sky? Do they receive the usual match fee, or is there a lower fee for red button matches? I wouldn't be surprised if this new red button deal is covered by one overarching payment to the league.

So... (tin foil hat on)... Sky were always going to cover the game regardless, but by putting it on their red button service, they've avoided having to pay an individual match fee that they would have had to pay by selecting it for a main-channel broadcast?

we got about £75k for a game and the uplift this season was much more than we would get for the couple of games we get. Those payments are still there for 'true' televised live games, plus their red button coverage is useless
