If they have then they must think he will increase in value - that is part of their transfer system and they have been pretty good at it historically.

Depends if he values first team football over money - if so, he may sway towards Peterborough as he'll be more likely to play for them with than us with Harrison, Sears and Garner possibly also fighting for places. Hurst will have to give him the hard sell; he doesn't have long to make up his mind.

Otherwise it would be very strange to pay x3 more than you paid for your main striker for a sub.

Have a horrible feeling we're going to be gazumped here; I know I was slightly negative about Jackson's signing earlier due to his lack of experience but as long as we keep hold of Garner and Sears we will have some experience in attack.
Credit to Accrington for not using the interest to try and start a bidding war; perhaps they realised the three teams wouldn't pay any more. Unless they accepted a bid from one side and the other two came in, like Boro with Waghorn. [Post edited 6 Aug 2018 23:10]
