As some of you know, my life has been a bit crazy for sometime, the person I have been caring for has offered me a holiday (a month away in India) as I think reward... Other members of my family (and family friends) are aghast that I would entertain such a thing.
Are they just salty... Am I being a horrid human?

They sound jealous tbh. It’s a nice gesture of appreciation and one you should accept if you genuinely want to go (which I assume you would). Don’t let anyone try to talk you out of it as it’s really between you and the person you are caring for - not them.
