The question for Suffolk police should be how much of that £381k is for the totally over the top policing of the Norwich match.

Boo hoo, nearly all of our home games are ‘police free’. He wants to count himself lucky we aren’t a Leeds or a Millwall!

We should be getting a rebate now that our 2 most dangerous thugs are banned from the area on matchdays

Any private company paying less than a 1/3rd of the policing costs for their events, with the rest falling on the tax payer, is taking the piss IMVHO. And don't MEG have form for either not paying their bill or paying it very late..?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

With ITfC_Steward running the show, surely we don't need the police as well?

Phil - I'd say that is a very good question... are you able to ask it?

I imagine Naaridge, Millwall & Leeds make most of the cost up. With Naaridge's cost skewed due to the kick off time which probably means officers go into Overtime, plus don't they bring in cops come in from other areas.
> Met provide horses don't they?
> Do they get their chopper out? That's a few quid

Perhaps they could save money by sacking the overpaid bureaucracy level of Police commissioner.

When I organised cycle races in the nighties they cost £400 per day each, so I would expect the organiser to pay the current day rate for them.

The Suffolk PCC did a Q&A here last year. The biggest round of applause any question got was 'so, what is it you actually DO?'

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Another piece of Cameron genius, a policy thought up because it made a nice soundbite with no practical utility.

Were they like lingerie or just boring nighties?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Why should ITFC - whose fans are notably well-behaved - have to pay extra for the 'privilege' of hosting the likes of Leeds and Millwall? If anyone should have to contribute towards the cost of extra policing, it should be those causing the need for it.

Looking at the bigger picture, though, it seems that football clubs are being seen as an easy/rich target for constabularies who want their share of the clubs' riches. Arguably there's a greater need for a strong police presence on Prince of Wales Road in Norwich of a weekend, for example, but you don't see Norfolk Constabulary demanding that the licensed premises pay for the policing...

Things they could save on,

- helicopter being in the air for the Norwich and Leeds ganes
- police horses being drafted in for those games
- having 3/400 police standing around in the car park before during and after those games

The entire policing of those two games are massively over the top.

We’ll be good again... one day
