Bart offer refused on 07:54 - Jul 11 with 1119 views | christiand | If Bart wants to leave, that's fine. The way he has performed for us over the last few seasons they'd certainly be no animosity towards him, but the club also need to get a price that is more reflective of his ability and his importance to us. £2.75m is just a derisory offer even if Birmingham City could afford to pay it, if they didn't have this transfer embargo. Indeed, it was so derisory that instead of being rejected it should simply have been ignored as being a joke. Unless a phone call with a recording of the laughing policeman counts as a rejection.

It was so derisory that they were put under a transfer embargo within a couple of hours, to stop them wasting anyone else's time.

This world cup has show how much GK's are really worth Bart is worth much more than what's been offered. Relagation, which is what maywell have happened without Bart makes him worth - how much to Town?

Perhaps, with a bit of PH unknown being thrown in this season, it's worth running down the contract of Bart to ensure he's in the team. £3m loss or whatever by not selling him and losing him for nothing next season is peanuts if he's instrumental in saving us from relegation. I say keep him regardless. If PH does magic, then Bart will want to sign anyway.

It doesn't matter what he's worth to Town. With a year left on his contract, what matters is what he's worth to other parties. Hard to see anyone paying more than £4m for a 31 year old who was only Poland's 3rd choice keeper. Alex Smithies - probably similar ability - has just gone to Cardiff for £4m.
