I fooking hate that German Bombers song...
It was my first time watching an England game in the pub and it was a great atmosphere until this song broke out in the second half. There were parents singing along and teaching it to their kids, some of whom looked about 8 years old.
I know it's a bit of a dampener and I might be a bit of a snowflake but it's really uncomfortable and not what football should be about. It got to the point where I was hoping for a Panama goal to shut them up.
It was a shame because it was a great game otherwise. |  |

I think it would help if it was 5 German bombers rather than 10 as that does drag on, and on....
I think it's just a bit precious, I've been in Germany when ENgland fans are singing it and it's always taken in good humour - if other fans were singing about the Empire and some of England's atrocities we'd take it similarly |  |

In 2006 I saw a young German couple reduced to tears when it was sung/sang in their faces by a tattoe'd skin head hoolie.
He wasn't such a big man whden I fronted up to him over it.
It's crass and unnecessary. It goes back to a conversation I was having with Libby on another thread. Why do our dickheads have to show hate to another country in order to prove they love our country? |  |

I would imagine the couple would probably be reduced to tears if this d!ckhead had sung God Save The Queen in their faces though - it's just bad behaviour full stop.

It must be an inferiority issue. When faced with other nationalities they simply become little children singing about WW2 because they are too scared to engage properly with other them.
The thing is, if a predominantly Muslim set of fans - for example Tunisia- started singing about allied soldiers being killed in the Gulf War - the people who find the bomber song funny will start kicking off. In truth, they are the biggest snowflakes around.
