If the inconceivable happened.... 16:03 - Mar 6 with 4230 viewstrulyblue

and we were to put a run of wins together and against all odds nicked 6th place on the last day of the season, would the stayaways return for the playoff semi final? What do you think the attendance would be?

I'll be in the picket line with 12th man, if so.

No attendance, no ABB ticket number.

Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

What defines a stayaway, out of interest? Is it someone who has made a conscious decision to not attend games in protest, or does it include someone who can't be arsed because the football/atmosphere is crap and it's not fun anymore?

I hope they all do.

I expect everyone who can possibly get a ticket will be there. And rightly so.

As mentioned in a previous thread I'd laugh my tits off if Mick got us into 6th.

If he then won that playoff, myself then being tit-free, I'd fully expect us to only take 9500 (whatever the 'real' attendance was at Cardiff) to Wembley because, as we all know, it's all about the style of football, not the results, and nobody on this board would ever be that hypocritical to change their mind about that.

This sort of comment, whether tongue in cheek or not, is reductio ad absurdum and very annoying.

Of course we would. The only true hypocrites are those who assert they aren't hypocrites.

We're going to string a couple of wins together? Something we haven't done really all season, why now? You don't need to worry about the top 6 Trulyblue, it's already out of our hands. I still think a top 10 finish would be very decent though and a realistic target.

Because surely no-one has ever said they would boycott a play-off game in protest at the style of football on offer?

Maybe not a playoff game, but many have said they won't go again until the style improves and/or Mick goes.

Not go up in 12th or not go up in the playoffs. Your best case scenario is hardly a compelling ultimatum.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

Indeed.

Plus wins and feeling that we're properly challenging will make more of a difference than Mick leaving or the style being overhauled.

I remember quite a few people people raving about the Leeds game but that was mostly down to the win and the atmosphere at the game courtesy of the Leeds fans and a sending off. The game itself was a decent performance by us (against 10 men and Leeds had the upper hand before that) but really very similar to much of what's gone on this season.

So we’re now ignoring the 4 successive league wins at the start of the season because they don’t fit the narrative eh?

My policy towards MM is quite simple - top six or time for a change.

Yes because the vast majority of the argument comes down to season ticket purchase rather than supporting your club ie. paying hundreds of pounds up front for something you know will disappoint in this case. Match day sales I think are actually a bit up on last season if anything.
