It'll depend a bit on the pitches but we're not far off them in terms of batting, and could edge that department.
Their bowling attack is in a different league to ours though. Having Stokes and Wood in the squad would make me optimistic of a close series. Without them, I think we'll come up short.

I don't remember the 1948 series in any detail, but Bradman - the greatest sportsman in the history of the world - would not have allowed it, even from the Aussie Irish contingent who were not over-fond of him.
