Of course this is a personal opinion and I respect that not everyone agrees but arguments like yours ("imagine President Cameron!" - a gem from a previous thread) and money ("they generate £1.5bn a year") can't convince people who are opposed based on the belief that we're all equal and royalty isn't appropriate in 2017. |  |

You are technically correct, but to stop the annual furore over the large sums paid out to junior royals, in 1993 the Queen agreed to meet the expenses of these other family members, but was able to offset this funding against tax. So the taxpayer still funds around half of this spending. | |
