Stretch them, soak in a hot bath or get a foam roller.

I had a chat with a physio about these as I pinged my hamstring while "sprinting" around the boundary in a "valiant" attempt to stop a boundary in the summer. She said that if there is any muscle damage, you must be sure it's fixed/knitted together before using one of these otherwise it could do more harm than good.
