Worst rip off you have experienced.... on 19:45 - Mar 26 with 2230 views | Lord_Lucan | I've always fared ok. I used to use CVS Anglia who were always very good and reasonable but now I use a mate who is peanuts - and excellent. The only problems I had was when I had to use Diesco for specialised diesel repairs, oh and the place on Bentwaters airbase aren't great.

Worst rip off you have experienced.... on 22:25 - Mar 26 with 1945 views | MVBlue | Always normally use local garages and try tobuild up talking terms with the owner. Went to Nissan dealership for faulty wiper electrics and got charged £410 for replacement. Close to work so took the hit. Turns out many car parts are expensive. Ive heard what people pay at BMW dealerships, will never buy one of those.

I try to remember to use a credit card for anything other than regular everyday transactions for this reason though. Insurance and all that.

Worst rip off you have experienced.... on 08:30 - Mar 27 with 1534 views | HARRY10 | A few years back when acting as executor to an estate I was charged £3500 (or so) for making up the bank details. Something I had already done ! When questioned I was then told that the error was a mistake in placing the decimal point ! Further checking revealed later that I had been charged £35 for the time the solicitor spent on the phone with me... discussing their mistake ! Eventually I had both charges struck out - but I have subsequently been told that this is common practice and solicitors will see a large estate as a means to fill their boots. Lesson - don't be afraid to ask what each letter, phone call is costing and challenge it. Almost all of this can be done away from their grasping thieving hands when it comes to a deceased's estate.

My Bruv's an "Auto Technician" (you can't call him a mechanic nowadays) and has a tool for bloody everything whilst I'm an awkward leftie who turns into a wreck at the sight of a flat pack box with the word IKEA on it.

I'm not bad at DIY but cannot fathom out cars or plumbing. Lady Lucan does plumbing related things - as does Mrs Beard.

I also have the joys of the father in law and his ability to turn a 5 minute job into an epic all-dayer to include lunch, tea & my beer.
