Ex scum or not, it was a nice touch for him to turn around and (albeit briefly) join in the applause in the 84th minute.

Minutes applause for SBR

Always makes me laugh.

The SBR give an opposition player continuous grief, yet as soon as he shows the merest of a reaction, they are outraged.

To be fair to Green, he applauded in the 84th min and at the end.

Respectful from him.

He deserves plaudits for that then.

I didn't see that, respect to him.

I did see him turn around and 'yawn' when we were singing you let your country down, which i also accept. When you give out abuse you have to expect to get it back, nothing wrong with that

I wasn't sure whether he was joining our applause or applauding their play being subbed off coincidentally at the same time? I've been in two minds whether to give him any credit or not, hmmm.

I'm sure he turned towards the North Stand as he applauded, which would make me think it was for Bobby.

I've said this before on here, but anyone who says Norwich is a city with the mentality of a village can't be all bad - and that is what Green said some years back.

Agreed, he turned to face the North Stand - think the gesture was a genuine one.

Yes, he gets the rivalry but normally applauds the Town fans at the end even when playing for Norwich.

That's how it should be.

Have to also say that I noticed a few Leeds fans applauding before the game when the Dutch gods Arnold & Frans graced the pitch. Oh what I'd give to have a pair like that appear in a town shirt in my life time, they don't even need to be half as good (just better than Marco holster).

He was also blowing kisses at the North Stand when they were giving him abuse.

Fair play to him. If he couldn't take abuse, he wouldn't be a goalkeeper.

Unfortunately he also made some cracking saves.

Not going to lie I'm upset to read some of these comments.

If he clapped Sir Bobby then fair play, but it's only what anyone would do.

He's not a 'decent geezer', he is as Norwich scum as you can get and doesn't deserve any credit from us ever. This is the same bloke who kicked the ball at an old lady's face in the Ipswich end after QPR away a couple seasons ago.

My most hated footballer ever.

Bit extreme that.

By all accounts a very nice man who has had abuse from us for years.

He obviously didn't deliberately kick the ball at her..

How do we know he's a nice man? Clapping Sir Bobby isn't proof of that.

He deliberately kicked the ball into the Town fans after they got a last minute winner.

Sorry, this forum is fair game for a lot opinions, but praising Robert Green is not one of them.

If Ipswich lose against Norwich I fear that you may well need counselling.

We strongly suspect that he is a nice man, and an intelligent person, because of a series of things that he has said over the years, and because in this thread an ITFC supporter who knows him personally vouches for that fact.
